Method
- Sites. A portfolio of content, tool and affiliate sites run by Vondel Media and its sister projects, each with its own GA4 property. Only sites with enough GA4 data in the window are counted. No site is named.
- Bot-shaped. A GA4 channel on a site counts as bot-shaped when its sessions per user are 1.05 or lower and its views per session are 1.15 or lower. All of that channel’s sessions are then counted.
- Why it is a range, not a verdict. Counting a whole channel can include a few real people, and a script that hides inside a busy channel is missed. So this is a strong signal, not an exact count.
- Bias. Small sites attract a bigger share of bots, and our portfolio has many small sites. A big news site will see a lower share.
