Amazon Associates reporting changes in 2026
Amazon changed what you can see in your reports twice this year, and changed what you earn in between. Here is each change, when it happened, and what it does to your numbers.
-
Amazon told Associates that from this date: click counting covers more clicks (so clicks may rise and conversion rate fall), low-activity rows may be grouped into “Others” while account totals stay the same, Creator Central’s Category report switches from products linked to products purchased, downloads can cover a custom range of up to 90 days, and a new Tracking ID plus Bounty Event report is added. Amazon said earnings are not affected.
What it means: compare earnings across this date, not clicks or conversion rate. A dash next to a tracking ID is unknown, not zero. Source: Amazon’s notice to Associates, September 2026. -
Trade press reported that Amazon had cut commission rates for some publishers by up to 50%, with some premium categories falling from about 10% to 4–5%, and removed volume and year-over-year bonuses for most partners. Amazon did not announce it publicly.
What it means: earnings per click from before March are not a fair baseline. Sources: Adweek, My Amazon Guy. -
Reported changes: a higher threshold before tracking-ID data shows, less product-level (ASIN) detail, and some API access revoked. The commission changes rolled out to the US around the same date.
